Finally, it happened as expected, the conservatives have won the US house of representatives. The ‘red wave’ couldn’t materialize in the senate as the republicans still need one more seat to draw the results. Now the government is divided between the parties, with democrats expected to win the December 6 seat. Republicans gained 218 while the democrats gained only 211.

North Korea has constantly been threatening South Korea and Japan with its missile launches. This is the seventh missile launch in just 2 weeks setting alarms in the neighbouring countries. The US, Japan and South Korea have responded with joint military drills after North Korea fired a ballistic missile over Japan this week.
With Western aid pouring in to strengthen Ukrainian military capabilities, Russia has warned US and its allies of consequences if it doesn’t cease to send aid to Ukraine. The US has sent military equipment of more than $17 billion since the start of the war.
Iranian authorities are facing nationwide protests for 10 consecutive days in the country. The protests have so far resulted in the death of more than 40 people including Iranian security officials till now. Iran has accused the US and other European states of undermining Iran’s sovereignty by supporting the protests.
Earlier this month US intelligence reported that North Korea has sent military equipment to Russia. North Korea recently denied the accusation of sending any equipment or ammunition to Russia after it invaded Ukraine in February. North Korea termed the accusations as ‘‘rumours’’ and the US is deliberately trying to degrade North Korea’s image.
