Elon Musk’s X is responsible for Russia’s disinformation campaign, the European Union said in a statement. The EU’s vice president accused the platform of helping encourage the pro-Kremlin narrative in its war against Ukraine.
Elon Musk has hinted at charging users to access the X, formerly twitter. X users may have to pay a certain amount to use the platform to remove bots from the system. Elon Musk and the Israeli Prime Minister held a detailed meeting where he hinted at possible subscriptions for using the basic version of X.
Elon Musk has said X, previously known as twitter, will pay legal bills of those users who are treated unfairly by the platform. The users who like something on the platform and face consequences will be paid by X and the financial assistance will have “no limits”, he said.
X, previously known as twitter, has sued a non-profit organization for allegedly scrapping flawed data from the platform. Elon Musk filed a lawsuit against an anti-hate speech organization, the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), alleging that their actions caused the social media app to lose substantial revenue, amounting to tens of millions of dollars, as advertisers suspended their spending on the platform.
Ex-twitter employee Esther Crawford has said that Elon Musk is destroying twitter after he rebranded the platform recently. Crawford, the product manager, went viral for her photo last year when she slept at twitter office to show her hard work. Crawford has come out as a critic of the new changes Musk has introduced in the platform after she was fired in February.
