Activist Group Says Musk’s X Took Money Terrorist Groups

An activist group has accused the tech billionaire Elon Musk of accepting money from terrorists.

The Tech Transparency Project (TTP) found that X, formerly Twitter, had accepted payments for blue ticks from Hezbollah members.

The US State Department has designated Hezbollah as a terrorist organization because of its affiliation with Iran.

Hezbollah is designated as a terrorist group by the US and EU

X Took Money From Terrorists

According to the BBC report, X had granted some members of a terrorist group blue check marks.

After investigation, it was revealed that many accounts associated with Iranian militia groups had blue check marks live on their accounts.

The TTP report also mentioned that other groups based in Yemen have also paid for the blue check mark.

X Removed Tick Marks

After TTP’s report was published, X removed the blue check marks from the accounts mentioned in the report.

X responded to take “action if necessary” after removing dozens of accounts from the platform.

The TTP also identified other accounts associated with the Russian government having blue check marks but the BBC didn’t clarify if X took them down too.
