WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram all went down temporarily after a brief outage.
The BBC reported that thousands of users faced issues while logging into their accounts in the three social media platforms on Wednesday.
The UK site Downdetector said the issue was later resolved after persisting for hours.
Outage Reported Worldwide
The problem was felt worldwide, with most of those affected being from the United Kingdom.
Monitoring groups indicated that around 82,000 issues with WhatsApp were reported in the UK alone, with about 5,000 Instagram users facing issues in the United States.
According to Downdetector, almost 3,500 users reported problems in India and more than 7,000 in Brazil.
Facebook & Instagram Restored
The BBC updated their story when Facebook and Instagram resolved the technical issue.
Media agencies couldn’t verify what caused the problem in the first place.
X, formerly Twitter, has not yet responded to requests by the BBC.
