Samsung said that they are going to cut production of memory chips after profits decreased to an all-time low. Sales fell sharply for the chip making giant, decreasing the profit by 96% amid decrease in the demand.

Following European Union lawmakers reaching a deal to force all smartphones and tablets to have USB-C charging ports by 2024, a trio of senate democrats is looking to implement a similar mandate in the US. As reported, these democrats have called on the US Commerce Department to follow the EU’s lead and “develop a strategy to require a common charging port across all mobile devices.”
The European Commission, the executive arm of the European Union, is going to force smartphone manufacturers like Apple and other electronics makers to equip their devices with a standard USB-C charging port. EU lawmakers on Tuesday, June 7 agreed to a single mobile charging port for mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and cameras. The equipment makers will have to comply with the new terms by 2024.
