Tensions On Rise As North Korea Launched 2 More Missiles

North Korea has constantly been threatening South Korea and Japan with its missile launches. This is the seventh missile launch in just 2 weeks setting alarms in the neighbouring countries. The US, Japan and South Korea have responded with joint military drills after North Korea fired a ballistic missile over Japan this week. 

Failed Missile Launch Sparked Alarms In South Korea

Residents were shocked to hear the alarms after a missile exploded in the coastal city of Gangneung, South Korea. The explosion was heard far and wide among people living in the city. The incident happened in South Korea’s joint military drills with the United States in response to North Korea’s provocative behaviour.

North Korean Missile Flew Over Japan

For the very first time in 5 years, North Korea fired a ballistic missile over Japan without any warnings. The missile flew over Northern Japan and reported to have landed in the ocean without causing any damage in both air and water. The Ballistic missile travelled a distance of about 2,858 miles with altitude of 621 miles over Japan.

North Korea Rejected Accusations Of Sending Arms To Russia

Earlier this month US intelligence reported that North Korea has sent military equipment to Russia. North Korea recently denied the accusation of sending any equipment or ammunition to Russia after it invaded Ukraine in February. North Korea termed the accusations as ‘‘rumours’’ and the US is deliberately trying to degrade North Korea’s image.

US Intelligence Says: Russia Is Buying Arms From North Korea

Russia invaded Ukraine assuming a quick victory but NATO supplied Ukraine with enough munitions and aid crashing Russian hopes of quick win. Recent development has revealed the effect of sanctions on Russian military operations in Ukraine. A report first published in The New York Times on Monday said that Russia is turning towards North Korea to acquire Military equipment to be used in the Russian war in Ukraine.
