Oprah Winfrey and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson launched a massive $10 million relief fund for the victims of Maui wildfires. The People’s Fund of Maui will be making monthly payments to the victims to thousands of wildfires victims.
Death toll from the wildfires on the Hawaiian island of Maui jumped to 80, as per the latest reports. Wildfire authorities are still shocked at the rapid devastation caused by the wildfires in a short span of time on the island. The death toll is expected to rise further as the fires are still blazing in multiple places.
Shocking scenes have been circulating on social media as much of the historic Lahaina town burned to the ground. The videos showed apocalyptic scenes where people were jumping into harbor waters to avoid the high-rise blazes that destroyed buildings and businesses.
