The British newspaper The Guardian will no longer post on X, formerly Twitter, it said in an article.
In an article, the newspaper said that the benefits associated with posting on X no longer serve the purpose of news gathering.
“We wanted to let readers know that we will no longer post on any official Guardian editorial accounts on the social media site X,” the article mentioned.
Why The Guardian Will Not Post on X?
The newspaper mentioned that they are saying goodbye to the platform for hosting “disturbing content” that is promoted or found on the platform.
The British newspaper called the platform “toxic” X its owner has been inserting political influence through this app.
“Its owner, Elon Musk, has been able to use its influence to shape political discourse,” the article observed.
The Guardian’s reporters will also be able to carry on using the site for news-gathering purposes but the newspaper will not use it officially.
