Pigs’ Heads Found At Mosques Spark Anger In France

Pigs’ heads left outside mosques in France.

What kind of person leaves pigs’ heads outside places of worship?

That’s the question rattling Paris this week after at least nine severed heads were dumped in front of mosques across the city and its suburbs.

Four [were] in Paris proper and five [were] nearby.

Police chief Laurent Nuñez called the acts “despicable” and confirmed a hate-crime probe is under way.

The symbolism is no accident. Pork is forbidden in Islam.

Several of the heads reportedly had President Emmanuel Macron’s surname scrawled on them in blue ink.

“We’re not ruling out the possibility of finding more,” Nuñez warned, urging “extreme caution” as officers investigate potential links to foreign meddling.

Muslim Community Shaken In France

France — home to Europe’s largest Muslim community — has seen anti-Muslim incidents spike 75% since January, with attacks on individuals tripling.

The rise mirrors a wider EU trend of increased hostility toward minorities since the Gaza war erupted in October 2023.

Political leaders rushed to condemn the vandalism. Macron himself met Muslim representatives in Paris to offer support.

Meanwhile, investigators are comparing this case to earlier incidents of vandalism at Jewish sites.

These incidents were allegedly backed by Russian operatives.

For now, France’s Muslim community waits, shaken and defiant, asking: when will the hate stop?
