US intelligence agencies have identified Russian propaganda as the source behind a fake video circulating online.
The video appears to show a Haitian man claiming to have voted multiple times for Kamala Harris in Georgia.
A second man sitting beside him says he became an American citizen just in six months.
The 20-second clip has been watched by hundreds and thousands of people on X, the BBC said.
Storm 1516
The video’s legitimacy was challenged by a joint statement from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the FBI, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
This was confirmed to be fake by Clemson University researchers, who tied the video’s style to Storm-1516, a Russian disinformation campaign spreading disinformation against the US.
Ballot Destroying Video is Fake
The AFP’s Fact Check website identified another video circulating on X that shows a man tearing up votes that were cast for Donald Trump.
But upon questioning, the Bucks County Board of Elections confirmed that the papers were fake.
