The Indian and the Canadian governments have expelled top diplomats in a tit-for-tat move as Canada accuses India of transnational killings.
Canada accused the Indian government of being involved in killing a sikh separatist leader in Toronto.
Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s remarks came after police found credible evidence that Indian agents were directly involved in the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
Evidence Cannot Be Ignored
The Canadian Prime Minister said on a live television program that the evidence Royal Canadian Police brought to light cannot be ignored.
In response to the allegations, the Indian government asked six Canadian diplomats including the High Commissioner Stewart Ross Wheeler to leave the country by 19 October.
Mr. Wheeler said the Indian government was given the evidence it needed to investigate the murder that took place on the Canadian soil.
India also requested its diplomatic staff to return to India, claiming their lives were threatened.
