Former President Donald Trump’s campaign reportedly contacted Elon Musk’s X to keep JD Vance’s leaked files off the platform.
The materials, allegedly leaked by an Iranian government-backed hacking, included internal communications and personal information about Trump’s Vice President Sen. JD Vance.
The independent journalist Ken Klippenstein had published the dossier on Substack, and his X account was subsequently banned after sharing a link.
X blocked Klippenstein
X blocked links to the dossier and banned Klippenstein after his publication.
But a source familiar with the matter clarified that the Trump campaign did not explicitly push X to remove the materials.
Instead, X acted on its own by arguing that the file violated its rules.
The report has once again put Donald Trump and Elon Musk under light as Tesla’s CEO openly came in support of the former President in recent weeks.
Musk also appeared on stage with Donald Trump in a Pennsylvania rally and officially endorsed him a week ago.
