Man wins $50m After 10 Years in Prison For Murder He Didn’t Commit

A US man has been awarded $10 million for being declared in a murder case he didn’t commit.

The 34-year-old Marcel Brown spent 10 years in prison from 2008 to 2018 for allegedly murdering a 19-year-old teen on the west side of Chicago.

Police Tampered Evidence

A jury at the US District Court in Chicago noted that the police tampered evidence to make a false case against Mr. Brown.

In a two-week trial, it was revealed that Brown was put in an interrogation room for more than 30 hours and prevented him from sleeping.

Law firm Loevy & Loevy also said that the police threatened Mr. Brown to turn away his lawyer and mother from seeing him if he wanted to avoid lengthy imprisonment.

It was not made clear why the police did what they did and what they wanted to achieve at the end.
