Report Says Russia Using Kaspersky’s AI in Military Drones

Reports have emerged suggesting that the cybersecurity firm Kaspersky’s artificial intelligence technology has been used in Russia drones.

Although the company has rejected the speculations as baseless, the leaked documents reveal a deep connection between Russian drones manufacturer Albatross that dates back to 2018, according to The Register.

Kaspersky’s Limited Partnership

The company did acknowledge limited cooperation with the Russian drone company but rejected the rumors that it collaborated in a way mentioned in the report.

The report mentioned that some of the company members in Kaspersky assumed high salary jobs in the Russian drone firm to enhance it with AI.

Kaspersky Previous Transparency Attempts

Kaspersky has worked hard to win over its client’s base after it was alleged in 2018 that the company was spying for Russia.

The cybersecurity firm launched the Global Transparency Initiative to build trust and normal relationships.

Kaspersky Lab, famously known for its anti-virus software, was accused of spying for the Russian intelligence agencies by the US and subsequently banned from Federal contracts.
