Congress Female Lawmakers Clash Over Fake Eyelashes Comment

Two female lawmakers exchanged furious comments after one called the other out for wearing fake eyelashes during a session of the House Oversight Committee.

The house turned to utter chaos when Republican lawmaker Marjorie Taylor Greene told the Democrat Jamie Raskin of Maryland that her fake eyelashes were messing up while she read something from a paper.

House Was Debating Something Serious

All was set to hold a debate over whether to hold a cabinet official, Attorney General Merrick B. Garland be held for contempt of Congress.

But out of nowhere, Greene, who is known for inflammatory rhetoric, called out Ms. Raskin for wearing fake eyelashes.

“I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you are reading”, Ms. Greene told Ms. Raskin.

Committee Refused To Rule on Motion

After the incident, the committee refused to rule on the motion.

When asked to apologize for her remarks, Ms. Greene refused to apologize without much consideration.
