The US delegation led by the Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met with the Chinese officials including the President of People’s Republic of China, Mr Xijinping.
According to media reports, China warned the US to not meddle in its internal affairs, a reference to Taiwan as China considers the self ruled island its own territory.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi cautioned his US counterpart Antony Blinken about providing military assistance to Taiwan, the BBC reported.
China Cautioned US Over Taiwan
The Chinese Foreign Minister further said the relationship between the two countries were going towards positivity but there were some challenges.
The US House recently approved $8 military assistance for Taiwan’s security which China called a “serious violation of the one-China principle”.
In response to US warning to China about supporting Russian war efforts, China said the US must first stop its military and diplomatic assistance to Taiwan.
Both the countries have engaged on high levels but hurdles on Taiwan and technology persists.
