The federal appeals court has ruled out the import of Advanced Apple watches to the United States.
The court said the company will not be importing watches capable of reading blood-oxygen levels because of patent infringement.
The ruling, issued on Wednesday, is a response to Apple challenging a government decision claiming patent infringement.
Apple Insists on Removing Oxygen Feature
The company agreed to remove the blood-oxygen reading feature from two flagship Apple Watch models in the US.
Apple said its Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 models go on sale on its website and stores without the feature at 6am Pacific time on Thursday.
Patent Belongs To Masimo
The company named Masimo has accused Apple of stealing its technology.
Masimo, the medical technology company has accused Apple of stealing its oximetry technology by hiring its employees.
Apple has countersued Masimo for patent infringement, calling Masimo’s legal actions a “maneuver to clear a path” for launching its own watch.
