Elon Musk Brother Startup Shuts Down Most Of Its Locations

Elon Musk’s brother Kimbal Musk has reduced its farm startup’s workforce and announced the closure of most of its locations. Kimbal’s Agri-Tech startup `Square Roots’ that produces herbs and salad greens under artificial lights, was co-founded by Kimbal in 2016. Business operations in Grand Rapids, Michigan, will remain in service, former employees said.

Most of Staff Terminated

The ex-employees told Business Insider that employees at other locations, other than Grand Rapids, were terminated when they received an email. The company has halted its production operations in Springfield, Shepherdsville, Ohio, Kentucky, and Kenosha, the reports said.

Square Roots Shutting Down?

Square Roots, which had 198 employees by June, told employees that they were terminated on a temporary basis. The company didn’t provide further details about why they were laying off its workforce, therefore it’s hard to say why they did so.
