Investigation is currently underway after suspected cocaine was found in the White House on Sunday. The US secret services confirmed that the substance was cocaine, and it was found in the West Wing of the White House. The West Wing contains the oval office, the situation room and some other key areas where the presidential staff works.
Cocaine Was Found During A Routine Inspection
The suspicious powder was discovered during a routine inspection, in an area open for the tour groups. The secret services officials discovered the substance in a storage facility used by the White House staff and guests to store their cell phones. The secret services said they were investigating and looking into the cameras & entrance logs to know how the substance got into the White House.
White House Was Closed
The authorities had to briefly close down the White House at 20:45 local time for investigative purposes after the initial reports of cocaine discovery. President Joe Biden was not present at the White House as he departed to Camp David with first lady Dr. Jill Biden and family members on Friday.
