Whenever we hear the word mental health, we usually think of complex medications with names that remind us about the chemists working in a lab. While that may be the case, a German startup, Lactabico, is using milk to derive its key ingredients for treating mental and metabolic diseases.
Lactabico
The startup is headed by biologists, biochemists and experts, each having a phD in their respective fields. Lactabico aims at producing peptide therapeutics derived from the cow milk to treat mental diseases and metabolic diseases having no side effects.
The Peptides
The peptides derived from cow milk are special compounds that are found both in the small molecules and proteins with impressive properties to treat the mental diseases. Lactabico uses AI to generate a list of all the peptides, including LCGA-17 and CHM-273, both tested by the organization and have been successful. The treatment is both cost-effective and more efficient as compared to traditional drugs that have huge side effects.
