Two Americans Dead In Mexico Kidnapping

Four American citizens were kidnapped a week ago in the Northern Mexican border city. The US authorities have managed to rescue two with one woman injured in the gunfight. The four Americans were abducted by armed men a week ago, according to Mexican officials.

All Four Were Childhood Friends

The four Americans crossed the Mexican border to acquire medical treatment and were caught up in a deadly shooting. According to the families of the deceased, all four Americans were residents of North Carolina and childhood friends. The incident took place on the 3rd of March in the northeastern city of Matamoros, Tamaulipas. “The cartels are responsible for the deaths of Americans,” US Attorney General Merrick Garland said.

FBI Offers $50,000 Reward

Meanwhile, the US and Mexican authorities are working in collaboration to being the culprits to justice. The Mexican state of Tamaulipas has become one of the most dangerous Mexican states with more than 100,000 disappearances in the last decade alone. The FBI has offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those involved.
