A deadly train accident in Greece killed 40 people while 60 are still missing. Two Trains collided with each other in the central Greek town of Tempe. A passenger train traveling from Athens to Thessaloniki collided with a cargo train traveling from Thessaloniki to Larissa before midnight, Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Greek transport minister, Kostas Karamanlis, resigned from his office to pay respect to the victims.
Greek Minister Resigns
Accepting the neglect of the Greek government, the transport minister resigned from his post to pay respect to all the precious lives lost in the tragic train accident. He expressed sorrow and support to the families of the victims. Most of those killed were students, according to media reports.
Greek PM Visits Crash Site
The Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the crash site immediately. The Prime Minister walked through all the devastated train carriages and talked to the reporters afterward. He said the government will make sure to investigate the causes of this tragedy to make sure it never happens again.
