In yet another round of Twitter layoffs, Twitter’s CEO Elon Musk has fired additional 200 employees. This is not the first time layoffs, but rather a continuation of the series of layoffs Musk has been doing since he took over. Further layoffs have reduced Twitter’s workforce by 10% out of the 2000 prior workforce.
Layoffs Targeted Top Positions
Elon Musk has reduced twitter’s workforce by 50% since he took over last year. But there is something off about the recent layoffs. Elon Musk targeted top-level employees in his recent firing campaign. It included data scientists, product managers, and engineers who were helping to run the platform more efficiently, according to the New York Times.
Esther Crawford Fired
The Chief executive of Twitter Payments, Esther Crawford was among those who were fired. She was the one who introduced the blue tick subscription last year. She went viral when tweeted his photo of sleeping in the office with #SleepWhereYouWork.
