Turkey has restricted the access of twitter for its citizens after the two massive earthquakes that devastated a large portion of Turkey’s infrastructure. The restriction came into play after the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, imposed a national emergency amid chaos. So far 12,000 people have been killed in the two bordering countries, Turkey & Syria.

Citizens Told To Ignore Provocateurs
The aim is to force the Turkish citizens to avoid listening or watching news that creates unnecessary fear. Internet traffic monitoring group NetBlocks tweeted that Turkey has restricted the platform on various Internet Service Providers Operating in the country. Tayyip Erdogan said that his people should only listen to official authorities and ignore the Provocateurs, in this moment of crisis.
Four Arrested
The Turkish government arrested four individuals that were supposedly involved in posting things that were, according to Turkish authorities, “provocative”. The suspects were sharing content to create fear and panic, the police said.
