Seven were killed and several injured after a gunman started shooting randomly in a Walmart supermarket in Chesapeake. The incident added yet another horror to the list of horrors in 2022. The motives behind the attack are not yet clear, according to the Police.
The Store Manager Opened Fire
According to eyewitnesses, the gunman was believed to be the store’s manager, wearing a Walmart uniform. Although the police have not yet confirmed it, several other sources have said it. Walmart is closely working with law enforcement agencies in the investigation. The attack took place at around 22:12 local time. Later, the shooter committed suicide by killing himself in the process.
Investigation Underway
The police have initiated an investigation to find the possible motive behind the attack. They did not comment further when asked about the details. Public information officer Leo Kosinski said that police were looking for those still inside the building.
