Former UK Finance Minister and hedge-fund manager, Rishi Sunak, is set to become Britain’s new Prime Minister on Tuesday, reports the Washington Post.
Together with his wife, the Sunak’s own an estimated 730 million pounds, according to data by the Sunday Times Rich List.
Sunak practices Hinduism and has Indian heritage. In this context, his new role marks a big step forward for the UK from the British colonization of India.
The election to prime minister faced criticism as it was conducted by the Conservative Party in the House of Commons rather than openly by the public.
