Did NASA Confirm Hawking’s Prediction of End of the World Date

The late renowned theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking once predicted the world would end by the start of 2600, which is 600 years away.

Hawking claimed that unchecked population growth, climate change, and energy consumption could turn Earth into a “giant ball of fire” by 2600.

However, recent claims that NASA “confirmed” Hawking’s doomsday prediction are inaccurate.

NASA Rejects Viral News

NASA has, in the past, warned humanity about rising temperatures, population growth, and whatnot.

If, by confirming Hawking’s prediction we mean that, then yes, NASA does confirm that.

Hawking claimed that the Earth will become a huge ball of fire due to climate change

A NASA spokesperson clarified to Newsweek that the space agency has not made claims supporting a specific doomsday scenario or date, including Hawking’s 2600 prediction.

Neither NASA nor any scientific body has validated the timeline Hawking gave the Earth would end.

NASA confirmed to Newsweek that they didn’t confirm Hawking’s prediction.

On the contrary, the agency maintains that it is optimistic that humanity can mitigate the adverse impact of climate change if it remains committed.
