Scientists and academics have been warning about the drastic consequences of overreliance on artificial lights. Light pollution is literally erasing the stars and millions across the globe are unable to see the sky clearly.
North America On Top
As per numerous scientific studies, people around the world are seeing fewer and fewer stars. One study suggested that the nights are getting brighter for people in North America by 10% each year, much more than the rest of the world. Europe is 4% short and stands at around 6% increase in sky brightness each year.
Humans & Animals At Risk
The problem is not restricted to just not being able to see the night sky but it is far more worse. Light pollution has negative psychological and physical consequences for both human and animals alike. It alters the sleep cycle, reduces pollination, reproduction and also encourages developing cancers.
