Russian pilots accidentally bombed their own city of Belgorod, near the Ukrainian border. A Russian Sukhoi-34 fighter-jet bombed a city square causing a 20-meter crater. Three people were injured, and several buildings collapsed nearby, according to the local administration.
Russian Ministry Admitted
Moscow acknowledged that one of its military planes accidentally attacked the Russian city of Belgorod, located only 40 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, the aircraft’s ammunition was released accidentally, causing explosions in two different locations within the city.
Residents Survived Luckily
The CCTV videos showed a huge explosion at the intersection with multiple cars on the road. Luckily a car survived and passed the site seconds after the explosion, without causing any casualties. The bomb didn’t explode immediately but did 18 seconds after it was dropped.
