A dead NASA satellite is expected to crash back to earth today. Most of the satellite will burn while descending but NASA warns as it is expected to land on someone’s head. NASA’s 270 kilograms RHESSI satellite will strike earth at around 9:30 p.m. EDT.
Space scientists have been constantly urged to reduce the air pollution as it hinders their space imagery. In a new study published in Nature journal, the astronomers called upon the satellite firms to reduce satellite launches as it makes it difficult for them to capture the space light.
Space scientists have been raising concerns over the deployment of so many satellites, specially Starlink. In 2019, Starlink came under heavy criticism after astronomers claimed that the newly deployed internet satellites would interfere with astronomical observations. A new study published in Nature argued that satellites are severely affecting the observations of the Hubble telescope.
