The European Space Agency in collaboration with NASA released images of a gigantic hole in the ozone layer above Antarctica. The images of the ozone-depleted area were captured with Copernicus Sentinel-5P satellite, in September.
Researchers have been increasingly focusing on the adverse effects of air pollution to human cognition and overall brain. A latest study has unearthed a link between air pollution and depression in the adult population. 1.5 million out of total 8.9 million participants were diagnosed with depression, the study mentioned.
A report by the United Nations has revealed that the depleted ozone layer will recover in 43 years. The Earth’s ozone layer, which protects out earth from UV radiations, is recovering at a rate that will close the hole above Antarctica in 43 years, a UN study conducted every four years mentioned. The scientific assessment has shown optimism in the recovery and full healing of the Earth’s protective layer.
