Storm Disrupts Weekend Plans
A full moon was expected to worsen flooding, sending seawater into streets and homes in parts of coastal New Jersey.
Officials urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel, with New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani warning: “Do not drive or walk through floodwater.”
The storm also brought a major entertainment shutdown.
Football and baseball games were cancelled or postponed, while concerts by Ed Sheeran and other major artists were called off.
With strong winds still threatening trees and power lines, authorities are urging people to stay indoors where possible.
For residents along the coast, the weekend has become less about plans and more about simply riding out the storm.
