The war in Ukraine is edging closer to NATO territory.
Russia struck a truck near Ukraine’s border with Poland, briefly disrupting the Dorohusk-Yahodyn crossing, Polish and Ukrainian officials said.
The attack happened about 800 metres from Poland. The crossing has since reopened, but the location is hard to ignore.
Russia says it targeted infrastructure used to move military supplies from Europe into Ukraine.
Why does this matter? Ukraine relies heavily on routes through Poland, Romania and Moldova for both trade and Western weapons.
Russia has increasingly targeted border crossings in recent weeks.
The strikes come as both sides intensify long-range attacks, even as diplomatic efforts continue.
Diplomatic Efforts Continue
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping had offered to help broker peace.
Moscow has also left open the possibility of renewed talks involving the US and Ukraine.
Elsewhere, Russia accused Ukraine of striking fuel trucks near the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant.
Russian officials reported Ukrainian drone attacks that killed at least two people in Nizhnekamsk.
Ukraine also reported a strike on a Russian refinery.
Diplomacy may be searching for an exit. The missiles, however, appear to be heading in the opposite direction.
