The escalation follows the collapse of a preliminary ceasefire reached just weeks ago.
Iran has also declared the Strait of Hormuz closed.
US–Iran Tensions Escalate
Washington has reinstated its blockade of Iranian ports, raising concerns about regional security and global energy supplies.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei accused Washington of repeatedly breaking the agreement.
He said the US had “laid bare a fundamental truth” and was seeking to “escalate the conflict.”
Meanwhile, US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth paid tribute to the fallen troops, writing, “Godspeed, heroes. Their sacrifice only stiffens our resolve.”
The US has urged Americans, particularly in the Middle East, to remain on high alert as tensions continue to rise.
With diplomacy fading and military action intensifying.
