Norway Crown Princess’s Son Arrested Before Rape Trial

Marius Borg Høiby has now been arrested four times in 18 months.

Marius Borg Høiby, the 29-year-old son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, has been arrested again, just days before a major trial in Oslo.

He faces 38 charges, including the alleged rape of four women.

Police say the latest arrest involves accusations of assault with a knife and breaching a restraining order.

They warn there is a real risk he could reoffend.

He denies the most serious claims but admits to some lesser offences.

It’s his fourth arrest since August 2024 — and another blow to a royal household already under strain.

Royal Controversy Continues

Adding to the discomfort are renewed questions about Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s past links with Jeffrey Epstein.

She has acknowledged “poor judgement” over years of contact with the disgraced financier, calling it “simply embarrassing.”

Even Norway’s prime minister publicly agreed — a rare and telling intervention.

“This is not just private,” says royal historian Ole-Jørgen Schulsrud-Hansen.

“She’s always the crown princess. Everything ricochets back to Norway.”

While the palace insists Høiby is a private citizen, the glare won’t fade easily.

When royalty meets real-world consequences, tradition offers little shelter — and the public is watching closely.
