12 Dead In Islamabad Suicide Attack, Pakistan Official Confirms

Suicide bombing in Islamabad kills 12, says Pakistan's interior minister.

A shocking suicide attack outside a courthouse in Pakistan’s capital has left 12 dead and at least 27 injured.

How could such violence strike one of the country’s most secure areas?

Authorities say the bomber tried to enter the district courthouse but failed, detonating the device near a police car after waiting for 15 tense minutes.

“It was complete chaos,” said lawyer Rustam Malik, who witnessed the blast.

“I saw two bodies at the gate, cars on fire, and people running in every direction.”

Footage from the scene showed plumes of smoke rising from a burnt-out vehicle behind police cordons.

The injured are receiving medical care, while authorities race to identify the attacker.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi promised those responsible will be brought to justice.

Rising Regional Tensions

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif blamed “extremist groups actively backed by India,” though Delhi has denied such claims.

The last suicide attack in Islamabad was three years ago, highlighting how rare these events have become in the capital.

Meanwhile, tensions flare as India deals with its own tragedy — a car blast in Delhi just the day before, leaving eight dead.

President Asif Ali Zardari condemned the attack, calling it “unacceptable.”

Citizens are left asking: how safe is even the heart of a nation when terror can strike at its doorsteps?

Sometimes, the world’s headlines remind us that security is never guaranteed, and peace is always fragile.
