US Army Gears Up For Biggest Military Parade In Decades with 7 Million Pounds Of Hardware

Army preparing for largest military parade on the capital’s streets in decades, featuring 7 million pounds of hardware.

Get ready, Washington, DC—because in less than two weeks, the city’s streets will rumble under the weight of millions of pounds of military hardware.

Yep, President Trump’s dream of a grand military parade is coming true.

Nearly 7,000 soldiers and a convoy of tanks, fighting vehicles, and artillery will roll through the capital on June 14.

What’s Happening?

But here’s the kicker: how will the city’s roads handle this beast? The US Army is taking no chances.

They’ve already started laying down steel plates at key spots—especially where tanks will make sharp turns—to protect the asphalt.

Plus, every vehicle gets special track pads to ease the pressure, and the tanks will crawl at a walking pace during the parade.

Col. Jesse Curry, the Army Corps of Engineers’ lead, assures us, “Our concern for damage below the surface is very, very low.

We’ve got the best engineers in the world.”

The $3.5 million spent so far is a far cry from the $16 million ‘do nothing’ estimate.

And though some worry about underground gas lines, Curry points out they mostly run under sidewalks—not the roads.

This parade’s been two years in the making but only recently got the green light from Trump’s team.

It focuses solely on the Army this time to keep costs down.
