Mass Shooting At North Carolina Party Leaves 1 Dead And 11 Injured

1 dead, 11 wounded in shooting at North Carolina party.

Tragedy struck early Sunday morning in western North Carolina when a party turned deadly, leaving one person dead and 11 others wounded.

What started as a noise complaint near Charlotte quickly escalated into chaos.

At around 11 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to loud music at a home on Walnut Acres Drive and asked the residents to turn it down.

But just over an hour later, multiple 911 calls poured in reporting a shooting with numerous victims.

Sheriff’s Maj. Aaron Turk revealed, “They discovered 12 people shot.

Sadly, one was dead at the scene.”

The deceased was identified as 58-year-old Shawn Patrick Hood.

Another victim is in critical condition at a Charlotte hospital, while others have been treated locally.

What’s More Troubling?

Officials believe there was more than one shooter and multiple weapons involved, including long guns.

Despite the chaos, deputies don’t think this was a random attack or a threat to the wider community.

Investigators are piecing together the puzzle, speaking with attendees and trying to track down everyone involved.

It is no easy task when the party spread across multiple properties.

Turk said animosity among partygoers might be a motive, but the noise complaint seems unrelated.

Sheriff Don Brown called the incident “rare” but noted a worrying rise in violence among youth.
