Macron Faces Backlash Over Viral Cocaine Accusation In France

What happens when world leaders board a train to discuss peace?

Apparently, some corners of the internet see a chance to stir up chaos.

A video showing French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz en route to Kyiv made its rounds online.

It quickly gained attention across social media platforms.

The clip? Innocent. The claims? Outrageous.

As Macron casually tidied a white tissue off the table, conspiracy theorists pounced.

U.S. radio host Alex Jones insisted the tissue was cocaine. Yes, really.

The rumor gained traction after being echoed by Russian officials, including the foreign ministry’s own Maria Zakharova.

France Wasn’t Having It

“When European unity becomes inconvenient, disinformation goes so far as to make a simple tissue look like drugs,” the French government fired back.

It was posted on X. It called out the smear for what it was: blatant propaganda.

The Élysée even posted a close-up photo with the no-nonsense caption: “This is a tissue for blowing your nose.”

The broader message?

In a time of war and disinformation, even a crumpled Kleenex can become political ammunition.
