China To Trump: No Trade Talks Until Tariffs Are Gone

China tells Trump: If you want trade talks, cancel tariffs.

So, you want a trade deal?

That’s the message China is sending loud and clear to Washington.

If President Trump is truly serious about ending the tariff-fueled trade war, Beijing says there’s a simple first step: drop the tariffs.

Despite Trump’s hints that talks are underway, Chinese officials are calling bluff.

“No negotiations have happened,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun.

“And no agreement has been reached.”

So much for diplomacy behind closed doors.

Meanwhile, the tariff tit-for-tat keeps escalating.

Trump slapped up to 145% taxes on Chinese imports.

China retaliated—hard—sending Boeing planes back to the U.S.

Yep, just shipped them back like unwanted Amazon orders.

What Happened?

Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg confirmed two aircraft were returned, with another in line.

“A small example,” Trump fumed online, accusing China of long-standing economic sabotage.

Commerce Ministry spokesperson He Yadong didn’t mince words: “If the U.S. really wants peace, it should remove its unilateral tariff measures.”

His metaphor? “The person who tied the bell must untie it.”

All the while, foreign companies in China are left scrambling.

At a roundtable, officials urged them to “turn crises into opportunities.”

Great advice. But maybe first, someone should untie the bell
