Titanic Pocket Watch Set To Be Auctioned For Up To £50,000

Titanic pocket watch could sell for £50k at auction.

A century-old pocket watch, stopped forever at the moment the Titanic met its icy fate, is going under the hammer—and it’s not just another antique.

This timepiece once belonged to Hans Christensen Givard, a 27-year-old Danish passenger aboard the ill-fated ship.

Instead, his body was pulled from the North Atlantic.

Now, his descendants are parting with the watch, setting the stage for an emotional auction at Henry Aldridge and Son in Wiltshire on April 26.

This watch—along with a compass, passport, savings book, and some cash—was returned to his family in Denmark.

Auctioneer Andrew Aldridge described the piece with poetic reverence.

He said, “The watch’s movement is frozen in time at the moment the cold North Atlantic waters consumed not only its owner but the most famous ocean liner of all time.”

Still flecked with saltwater corrosion, the watch has seen more than just history—it is history.

It even starred in a 2012 Copenhagen exhibition about Scandinavians aboard the Titanic.

It’s not just about bidding on a watch.

It’s about holding a heartbeat from 1912. Who says time travel isn’t real?
