In a case that’s shocked Germany, a Berlin doctor is facing murder charges for allegedly ending the lives of 15 patients in his care.
Prosecutors say it wasn’t about mercy, but something far darker: a twisted “lust for killing.”
The 40-year-old physician, part of a palliative care team, is accused of secretly injecting his patients with a lethal mix of anesthetics and muscle relaxants.
What Was The Result?
Their lungs stopped working—death within minutes.
The victims, aged 25 to 94, never consented.
And it gets worse. On five occasions, prosecutors say he set fires in victims’ homes—apparently to erase evidence.
One such attempt failed when the fire fizzled, prompting the doctor to bizarrely call a relative and pretend to be checking in.
Initially linked to just four deaths, the body count ballooned as investigators dug deeper.

He’s been in custody since August.
Prosecutors are pushing for the harshest penalties possible—including life behind bars with no chance of early release.
He hasn’t spoken a word in his defense yet.
So, was this a case of a doctor gone rogue—or something more sinister hiding behind a white coat?
The court will soon decide.
But for now, Berlin is left asking: how could this happen under the guise of care?
