US Senator Makes History By Giving record 25-hour anti-Trump Speech

Senator Cory Booker made history on Tuesday with the longest speech ever in Senate history.

Mr. Booker stood for over 25 hours in a powerful protest against President Trump’s “unconstitutional” actions.

Booker shattered the previous record, held by Strom Thurmond, who filibustered for 24 hours and 18 minutes in 1957 to block civil rights legislation.

In a marathon display of endurance, Booker’s voice remained strong as he passionately criticized Trump’s executive overreach.

“Strom Thurmond’s record always irked me,” Booker said, reflecting on the former senator’s role in trying to block Black representation in the Senate.

As Booker approached the 25-hour mark, the Senate chamber filled with Democratic colleagues, though Republicans largely stayed away.

Booker’s speech wasn’t technically a filibuster, but his defiance quickly became a symbol for the Democratic opposition.

With a mix of humor and resolve, Booker joked about dealing with “biological urgencies” before finishing his speech.

He quoted civil rights legend John Lewis, urging lawmakers to make “good trouble,” before dramatically yielding the floor.
