The U.S. Space Force’s X-37B—basically a secret spaceplane with a very classified agenda—has been quietly orbiting Earth for over 4,000 days.
And while its missions are usually wrapped in mystery, the Space Force recently broke the silence, sharing a rare onboard photo of Earth.
X-37B Accomplished A Major Milestone
Why the sudden reveal? It turns out that the X-37B just pulled off an aerobraking maneuver, a fuel-efficient trick that uses Earth’s atmosphere to slow down and shift orbits.
Space Force boss General Chance Saltzman called it a “first-of-its-kind” move and a “major milestone” in America’s space capabilities.

But let’s be real—this is more than just a fancy orbital lane change.
The Space Force has been testing radiation experiments and space surveillance tech in highly elliptical orbits since late 2023.
Officials say these latest maneuvers prove just how advanced their space game is getting.
