FBI Cracks Down on Criminal Network Targeting Pro Athletes’ Homes

FBI launches operation to stop pro-athlete burglaries

The FBI has launched a nationwide crackdown on a sophisticated burglary ring that has been breaking into the homes of professional athletes across the U.S.

According to investigators, these crimes are the work of South American Theft Groups (SATGs).

The group is an organized crew that allegedly tracks athletes’ travel schedules, striking when their luxury homes are empty.

FBI is Fighting Back

Last year, the NFL even warned its players after burglars hit the homes of Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, as well as a property owned by Dallas Cowboys’ Linval Joseph.

Now, federal agents are fighting back. The FBI has already arrested two men accused of running an East Coast operation to resell stolen goods.

Meanwhile, a grand jury in Ohio indicted three suspects allegedly tied to a break-in at an NFL player’s home.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities say the network is larger than it appears.
