Transgender Women Will Not Compete in Female Sports in The US Anymore

In a move that’s sure to stir up the US sports arena, President Donald Trump has signed an executive order that bans transgender women from competing in female sports.

Trump’s latest policy, which goes into effect immediately, is being hailed by Republicans as a victory for fairness in women’s sports.

The order directs the Department of Education to investigate high schools and universities for non-compliance while pushing sports bodies like the NCAA to back the rule.

Critics Say The Order is Dangerous

“The war on women’s sports is over,” Trump declared, adding that his administration will ensure transgender athletes are not allowed to compete in women’s categories.

The order will even restrict transgender athletes in major events like the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

But for LGBT advocates, this order is a step backwards.

Kelley Robinson, president of the Human Rights Campaign, slammed the move, calling it “discriminatory”

She warned it could embolden harassment of young transgender athletes who just want a place to belong.
