Just days before Donald Trump returns to the White House, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian is pushing back against allegations that Tehran was involved in a plot to kill him.
In his first U.S. media interview, Pezeshkian dismissed the claims as “foreign schemes” designed to fuel hostility against Iran.
Iran Will Never Attempt To Kill Donald Trump
“We have never attempted this to begin with, and we never will,” he told NBC News.
The President didn’t comment on who was responsible for assassination attempts on Trump’s life.
Tensions between Iran and the U.S. remain high, with Trump threatening tougher sanctions and increased pressure over Iran’s nuclear program.
Pezeshkian accused Washington of trying to “topple Iran” but urged Trump to choose diplomacy over war.
On the possibility of a U.S.-Israel military strike, Pezeshkian warned that Iran “will react to any action” and that any attack would have serious consequences for all involved.
