Is Elon Musk About to Take Over TikTok?

TikTok has been fighting to avoid a US ban for months but there are reports of a potential sale of the platform to Elon Musk.

According to Bloomberg, Chinese officials are quietly discussing a backup plan to sell the algorithm King to Tesla and X’s owner.

But What About The Chinese Government?

One might ask what the Chinese government has anything to do with TikTok.

The truth is that the Chinese government holds a “golden share” in ByteDance, which has fueled concerns in the U.S. over Beijing’s influence on TikTok. One possibility?

Musk’s social media platform, X, could take over TikTok’s American business and run it jointly.

However, no official deal is on the table—yet.

Last week, the Supreme Court appeared ready to uphold a law that could force a sale or an outright ban by January 19.

It is not quite sure how this saga will play out as Donald Trump takes office on 20 January.
