What is It For?
AM and PM help us distinguish between morning and afternoon, but have you ever stopped to think about what they actually mean?
Over on X (formerly Twitter), one curious user asked: “I might be called stupid after this, but wtf does ‘AM’ & ‘PM’ stand for?”
The responses were a mix of shock, support, and good old-fashioned sarcasm.
Some people couldn’t believe the question was even being asked.
“How did you get through high school without knowing this?” one person wrote.
Others admitted they had never really thought about it either.
“Literally just learned this today,” one user confessed, while another admitted: “My mind just exploded.”
