Cybertruck Man Was Elite US Soldier And Shot Himself Before Blast

The man behind the Tesla Cybertruck explosion outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas has been identified as Matthew Alan Livelsberger.

The 37-year-old man was an active-duty U.S. special forces soldier.

Officials confirmed that Livelsberger shot himself before the vehicle, packed with fuel canisters and fireworks.

Livelsberger’s ID was found inside the car.

Cybertruck Design Mitigated The Blast

The explosion injured seven people, though all suffered only minor wounds.

Interestingly, authorities noted that the Cybertruck’s design helped contain the blast, directing it upward instead of outward—preventing shattered hotel windows.

Police Recovers Livelsberger’s ID

Livelsberger rented the Cybertruck in Denver on December 28 and drove over 800 miles to Las Vegas.

Inside the charred vehicle, investigators recovered his military ID, firearms, and personal items, along with tattoos that confirmed his identity.

Authorities are trying to find a link between this attack and the truck attack in New Orleans that killed 15 people.

The suspect who drove the truck was also a member of the United States army.
